Researchers from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and Cornell University have successfully subdued diabetes in a group of mice by implanting a tiny device capable of releasing insulin-secreting cells. Those imported cells solely launch insulin in response to blood sugar adjustments, that means diabetes may be “reversed” with out the necessity for any immune system-suppressing medication. Up to now, almost 87 per cent of genomic analysis of this type has been carried out in Europe.
